How to install and set up Smart Home Floorplan
Smart Home Floorplan is a tool that allows you to visualize your house or apartment with all its devices and sensors, so you always know their status at a glance. You can also use Smart Home Floorplan for planning out your security layout, WiFi coverage, and more.
Smart Home Floorplan works best with Home Assistant. Any devices you want to visualize must be registered with Home Assistant. Smart Home Floorplan reads device states from Home Assistant and displays them on your floorplan.
Installation
To set up Smart Home Floorplan, follow the steps below.

Set up Home Assistant
Make sure you have Home Assistant set up with your devices connected to it. Instructions to install Home Assistant if you don't have it yet.

Create Your Smart Home Floorplan Account
Create your Smart Home Floorplan account (it's free)

Install the Smart Home Floorplan Addon
Install the Smart Home Floorplan add-on for Home Assistant. This add-on does a couple of things:
• Caches assets to support offline mode (coming soon)
• Will allow storing layouts locally for privacy mode (coming soon)
• Proxies Home Assistant events to the Smart Home Floorplan app locally. No device information is sent to our servers unless you explicitly opt in to it

Draw Your Home Layout
• Upload a floorplan image and trace the walls, doors, and windows; or
• Draw free-hand based on your own measurements

Place Your Devices
Smart Home Floorplan provides a list of recognized devices from Home Assistant that you can drag into your layout. See our guide on placing objects for more details
Privacy
Currently, your floorplan layouts are stored on Smart Home Floorplan's servers, not on your Home Assistant server. Some device status information is also stored when you save your layout. However, the live event stream from Home Assistant stays on your server and is not sent to our servers.
We are planning a privacy mode that will allow you to keep your floorplan layouts on your own Home Assistant server.
You can optionally share your device information to help us build support for your devices in Smart Home Floorplan.
